As an overcomer of sexual abuse, Kerry Pharr knows a thing or two about adversity. Kerry was mugged and sexually abused when he was six years old in the inner city of Detroit Michigan. In this podcast Kerry shares what helped him overcome the pain and the shame of childhood sexual abuse.

Bobby Hayden Jr. was a child prodigy. A rock singer who played on national TV as a child. He became addicted to fame and then to Heroin. His home was a cardboard box under a bridge in Los Angeles. He was living life in the fastest of fast lanes, approaching death at 100 miles an hour. Someone reached down to him, he was lifted up, delivered and healed. Are you contemplating suicide? So did I, but I was able to overcome those thoughts and carry on with my life.

Please realize that you can screw up a suicide and if you do, it’s not a pretty thing. A friend of mine put a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Unfortunately he didn’t die. But he became a blind, disfigured, handicapped young man who suffered for years before falling down a flight of steps that ended his life.

Stan Harris is a mountain of a man. At six feet two inches tall and 250 pounds of muscle he is a man’s man. He’s a powerful man, a tower of strength to others. However there was a time in his life when he contemplated suicide.

Kerry Pharr was at the lowest point of his life. He had just lost his childhood sweetheart and wife of more than thirty years to Breast Cancer. He was going through incredible axiety and grief.

He was alone driving across a 100 foot bridge in St. Petersburg Florida when he heard a voice from the dark side say – “Stop the car and jump to your death.” As he was contemplating suicide he heard another voice that saved his life.

Jimmy Fortune toured, sang and performed with the legendary Statler Brothers for 21 years. Fortune quickly lived up to his name. He wrote the group’s second No. 1 hit, “Elizabeth,” on their 1983 album Today, and followed that with two more No. 1 hits?”My Only Love” (from 1984’s Atlanta Blue) and “Too Much On My Heart” (from 1985’s Pardners in Rhyme). After the Statler Brothers retired on October 26, 2002, Jimmy seized the opportunity to launch a solo career to share new music with his fans. L G Wise was a gangster, a drug dealer in the mean streets of New York City. After he got out of prison some members of his gang family, his homies decided to kill him. As a gun was placed to his head L G cried out to God to save him. God saved him that day and transformed him into a new man. Today he’s an international recording artist. Brad Kellet was a bad dude. He was a drug dealer who stabbed a man with a knife, attempted murder the judge said. He was sentenced to prison. He did time in the big house. Her family migrated to the United States when she was a young lady. While living in the USA Nadia learned that Jesus died to save her from her sin. Youhanni Barwari, was born into a Kurdish Muslim family in Baghdad, Irag. After migrating to the United States someone introduced Youhanni to the message of the good news of Jesus Christ. As he began to read the Old Testament of the Bible he realized that the Bible had much to say about his people, and the land of his birth. The cities mentioned in the Bible were places he was familiar with. He gave his life to Jesus and now shares the gospel with everyone he meets. Ep 17

John Tate was an American professional boxer who competed from 1977 to 1988 and held the WBA heavyweight title from 1979 to 1980. As an amateur, he won a bronze medal in the heavyweight division at the 1976 Summer Olympics. As a professional Tate earned two million dollars in the ring, sadly he ended up penniless and living on the street during the last years of his life.

Kerry Pharr hired Tate as a boxing trainer shortly before his death. In this podcast, Kerry shares his experience with the champ in the weeks prior to his death.

After my first wife and my mother and father died I had an insatiable appetite to learn more about Heaven. I saw Randy Alcorn’s book on Heaven in a bookstore and I purchased it. It was the most informative and fascinating book I had ever read about our eternal home.
